It's almost Halloween! So here is a pumpkin-themed I Love You Ritual for you and your children to enjoy. It is short and simple, but can offer you and your child a much-needed moment of connection. This connection will improve mood, willingness, and attention throughout the day - the more connection, the better! This I Love You Ritual was adapted from the book, I Love You Rituals, by Dr. Becky Bailey. Say the words as you follow along with the actions, or change it up and make it your own!
Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater (Say this while kneeling or sitting at eye level with your child. Consider holding hands so that touch is part of the connecting moment). Had a friend he loved to greet (Shake your child's right hand with your right hand). Treated him/her with kind respect (Gently put your left arm on the child's right shoulder to demonstrate a kind/gentle touch). And in the morning hugged his neck (Give a hug!)
