Dear Families,
It has been an honor to work with you and write to you this school year! As our school year is ending, please take a moment to read this article from Conscious Discipline. It was so helpful to me as a parent, and I think it will be for you too! consciousdiscipline.com/how-to-be-a-safekeeper-emotional-safety-for-adults/ This is a time unlike any other in our lifetimes, and we don't have a roadmap for how to navigate life right now. So be kind to yourself, forgive yourself, and care for yourself so that you can be kind to others, forgive others, and care for others. Take some deep breaths, and strive to be the keeper of not only physical safety, but also emotional safety in your home. "Oops" moments are allowed, and they will happen to us all! I hope you are all able to find moments of joy this summer. I hope you are able to spend time with family, slow down, connect, and enjoy the simple things that really matter in our lives. I hope you stay healthy, and I wish you all well! Looking forward to seeing our students when school starts again!!! With Love, Ms. Brie

I love Sesame Street, NPR, and supporting families, so I couldn't resist sharing these excellent resources! The first is a link to an article for parents, explaining some tips for handling this difficult time. and the second is a link to a toolkit just for kids!

All of us, both children and adults, may be experiencing some scared feelings. It's okay to feel that way! Use the link below to try some helpful activities from Conscious Discipline. Work through them for yourself, and along with your children. We are all in this together, we may all have scared feelings, and we can handle this. Choose a calming activity that can help you and your children "name and tame" scared feelings. I wish you all well!
