Well it's summertime, and I am looking forward to time away from work and more time at home with my kids. I am constantly reminding myself - and I hope you will too - to take the time to PLAY! It is so important to the development and social/emotional well-being of our kids. You will also find that the more children play with you and connect with you, the more willing they are to cooperate and follow your directions. So, play! Set aside time every day. Get down on the floor with them, invent a game, play charades, be a tickle monster, read and snuggle, follow their lead, make funny voices or faces together - you name it! It doesn't matter what you do, it just matters if you are present in the moment and having fun, together! Enjoy the moments of summer! Even when the days are long - the years are short. And I'll be back with more posts next Fall.
